He was predeceased by: his parent Albert Beyer Elway, Sr.; his wife Mary A. Elway (Voropaeff); his granddaughter Nicole Elway; his sisters, Barbara Bushik and Carol Jane Elway; and his brothers-in-law, Anthony DeFinis, David Reese and Nick Swafford.
He is survived by: his parent Mildred Elway (Stauffer); his children, Albert Beyer Elway III (Tracy) of Pittsburgh and Marcy Lynn Elway of Pittsburgh; his grandchildren, Rachel, Alexander, Nathan and Erica Elway; and his siblings, Gladys Jean DeFinis, Alice Erskine (Bill), Virginia Reese, Eileen Swafford, David Elway (Betty), Daniel Elway (Virginia) and Mary Williams (John).
