He was predeceased by: his parents, Hilda Diehl (Yellis) and Henry Diehl; his wife Judith Ruhe Diehl (Augsburg Books); and his grandchildren, Brendan Rackley and Rebecca Geballe.
He is survived by: his children, Shelley Geballe (Gordon) of Branford, Connecticut, William A. Diehl (Jeanne Birdsall) of Northampton, MA, Georgia Rackley of Enola, PA and Jennifer Welborn (Carlos Gradil) of Amherst, MA.; his grandchildren, Joshua (Allison), Benjamin (Rachel), Daniel Geballe (Linda), David (Allison), Amy Diehl (Tim Carlson), Nicholas Rackley (Laura), Kelsey and Jesse Welborn; and his great grandchildren, William, Kaylee, Shai, Avi, Micah, Ezra, Mealea, Oscar, Edward, Quinn, Elliott and Henry.
Because of continuing COVID restrictions, his children will gather for a private service and then hold a memorial celebration of Bill's life by family and friends later.
