He is survived by: his wife Irini Valavanis; his children, Kosmas (Katerina Valavanis), Stratoniki Hahalis (Alex) and Joanna Athanasiou (Nicholas); and his siblings, Stelios (Hareklia Valavanis) of Montreal and Evangelia (Efstratios Yialamas) of Mytilene, Greece. He is also survived by eight grandchildren.
