He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Donato Mecca and Mary Mecca (Del Giudice); his son Gary Mecca; and his brother Dr. Donato (Kay). He is survived by: his wife Gloria Mecca (Acacia); and his children, Jessica Anderson and Douglas Mecca. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

“Dr. John Mecca could be described by many accolades. All well deserved. To me the one that best describes Dr. John is humble. As a pharmaceutical sales representative, I had the privilege of visiting in person and later on by phone this caring, compassionate and gifted physician. Truly he was one of a kind. His early retirement from the medical world to follow his dreams was hard on his patients but a message to all of us that happiness only comes when selfishness ends. A GREAT MAN!”
