Christel Cornacchio Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Christel Cornacchio of Allentown, Pennsylvania, who passed away on January 10, 2025, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Wilhelm Bartsch and Hildegard Bartsch (Kraus); her husband Benito "Ben" J. Cornacchio; and her grandson Timothy Wannemacher. She is survived by: her children, John Backetti, Donna Statuti, Angela Differ (Tony) and Regina Wannemacher (Brad); her stepsons, Mark Cornacchio and Steven Cornacchio (Diana); her grandchildren, E. J. Backetti (Danielle Gambone), Sarah Hittinger (Matthew Taitelman) and Abigail Bateman (Jon); her great grandchildren, Gianna, Enzo, Jesse, Fiona, Wynne and Rhys; her sister Yolanda Schleicher (Rolf); and her cousin Gutrun Müller (Rudi).
Viewing will be held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:15 AM at the Sacred Heart Church (120 Jefferson St, Bridgeport, PA 19405). A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to any Children's Charity of donors choice in Christel's memory.
