He was predeceased by: his parents, R. Paul Schaeffer and Cora Schaeffer (Schearer); his former wife Angeline Schaeffer (Missura); his sister Doris Hoyle (Schaeffer); and his son Jerry Schaeffer.
He is survived by: his wife Harriet Schaeffer (Kleckner); his daughters, Deb Butterweck (Frank Dickman) and Dianne Spengler (Matt Nelson); his grandchildren, Kristina Noel (Mike), Bailey Spengler, Jason Butterweck (Amy) and Jeff Butterweck; and his great grandchild Harper Butterweck.
