It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Thomas Merkel (Allegheny, Pennsylvania), born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, who passed away on August 9, 2019, at the age of 66, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Regina M. Miller Merkel of Natrona Heights and Paul William Merkel, Sr.; his wife Barbara A. McDade Merkel; his children, Katlyn Merkel of New York City, NY, Thomas A. Merkel, II of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and Elyse Merkel of Pennsauken, NJ; his grandson Francis Thomas O'Shaughnessy; and his siblings, Paul Merkel, Jr. of Washington, WV, Janine Fanelli (Lawrence) of Titusville, PA, Stephen Merkel of Natrona Heights, PA and Christine Pekny (Joseph) of West Lafayette, IN..
