He was predeceased by: his parents, Tode Zernich and Amelia Zernich (Maravich). He is survived by: his wife Gloria Zernich (DiMarzio); his children, Milas Zernich (Judith Haskell), Gordon Zernich and Robin Zernich; his grandchildren, Dillon, Whitney, Morgan and Haley; and his siblings, Violet Tomei (John) and Ted Zernich (Joan). He is also survived by many loving great grandchildren.
