He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Short and Luella Short (Peoples); and his siblings, William, Jay, Paul "Pete", Marie "Sis", Martha, Sally and Sandra "Teenie".
He is survived by: his children, Donald F. Jr. Short (Lynn), Deanne Walton (Mark), Michael Short (Kate) and Christian Short (Brandy); and his grandchildren, Alec, Trevor Short, Jonathan, Taylor Walton, Michael Jr., Carsyn Short, Sebastian and Dominic Short (Veronica Bergandy Short). He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
