He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Moyer, Sr. and Jessie M. Harrell Moyer; and his brothers, James, Elmer Jr., Franklin and Armond.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth A. Friedly Moyer; his children, Ruth (Larry Young) of Mooresville, NC, Susan (Chris Zinn) of Sinking Spring, PA, Margery (Wendell Messick) of Ephrata, PA and Merrill G. Moyer, Jr. (Jennifer) of Ephrata, PA; his grandchildren, Michael Antonson, Christie Zimm-McClary, Alish Moyer and Gwendolyn Moyer; and his great grandchild Eden Lyons. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
