He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert M. Hooks and Clara "Peg" B. Hooks (Davis); and his siblings, Robert Hooks, Andy Paul "Cleaver" Hooks, Dennis Hooks and Latisha Miller.
He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Hooks of Adrian; his sons, Elmer Hooks Jr. (Sheri) of Adrian, Robert "Bob" Hooks (Hope) of Adrian and James "Todd" Hooks (Wendy) of Fenelton; his siblings, James Hooks (Sue) of Cowansville, Patricia Frick (Guff) of Adrian and Sandy Whitling (Scott) of Virginia; his grandchildren, Miranda Lasher (Josh) of Cowansville, Kolby Hooks of Kittanning, Kami Hooks, Josi Hooks of Adrian and McKenna Hooks of Fenelton; and his great grandchild Nellie Lasher of Cowansville. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
