He was predeceased by: his parents, Wade E. Tompkins and Doris Mae Tompkins Sr. (Dean); his son Captain Wade A. Tompkins (Barbara); and his sisters, Carol Bushnell (Jay) and Tammy Tompkins.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Lash Tompkins (Heltebran); his daughter Wendy Lock (Don) of Jeannette; his grandchildren, Jesse Wade Lock and Savannah Joy Lock; his nephews, Jay Bushnell of Jeannette and Jeff Bushnell (Amber) of Butler; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Mechelle Hutchinson (Chris, family: Melinda "Mindy" Wolfe) and Melissa "Missy" McGrew (Bill).
