She was predeceased by: her parents, Andrew Hatter and Lila Basinger Hatter; her husband Rev. Mallie L. Melvin, Jr.; and her children, Michael Melvin and Sherry Neff.

She is survived by: her children, Cathy Melvin of Okeechobee, FL, Teresa Walk of Connellsville and Mark Melvin of Adah; and her brother Gifford Hatter of Morrell.

Visitation was held on Friday, October 25th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, October 26th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Andrew D. Ferguson Funeral Home & Crematories, Inc. (80 Morgantown St, Uniontown, PA 15401). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, October 26th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
