He was predeceased by: his parents, Lyle L. Ballard and Mabel Ballard (Trovato); and his sister Ruth Ann Crowe. He is survived by: his wife Susan Ballard (Stoken); his daughters, Melissa Whitlatch (Christopher) of Cranberry Twp and Candace Miller (Ernest III) of Hopwood; his grandchildren, Katelynn, Alexander Rocco, Brayden, Nicholas Budd and Tucker Miller; and his siblings, Rebecca Locke (Edward) of Rowes Run, Tammy Loyd (Randy) of New Canton, VA, Reta Roush of Hartford City, WV and Harvey Knox Jr. of Hiller, PA..

He loved his MOPAR's and organized classic car shows to support the American Cancer Society, the Alzheimer's Association and St. Aloysius Church.
