Dorothy Elizabeth McGuire Obituary
We are sad to announce that on July 21, 2021, at the age of 105, Dorothy Elizabeth McGuire of Abington, Pennsylvania passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Ambrose Gettier and Elizabeth Gettier; her husband William McGuire; her children, Linda Yergey (Barry Hommerbocker) of Ellicott City, William McGuire, Jr. (Susan McGuire) of Leesburg and Brian McGuire of Takoma Park; her grandchildren, A. Karl Yergey, Beth Scalese (James), Amy Yergey (Robert Gibbs), Valerie McGuire (Zubair Abdullah), Tiffany Moore (Christopher) and Melinda Villalba (Juan); and her stepgrandchildren, Karen Conlon and David Hommerbocker (Susan Mankin) of Arlington. She was also cherished by 10 great-grandchildren.
Covid restrictions will require attendees to register in advance with the church.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Dorothy's honor to Vantage Point Employee Appreciation Fund, 5400 Vantage Point Rd., Columbia, MD 21044 or New Hope Lutheran Church.
