It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Violet M. Bechtel (Abbottstown, Pennsylvania), who passed away on July 31, 2023, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband John H. Bechtel, Jr.; her parents, Harry E. Masemer and Edna S. Masemer (Snyder); her son-in-law Steve K. Smith; and her siblings, Ernest, Mervin, Frank Masemer, Ethel Parr and Dorothy Masemer.
She is survived by: her children, John H. Bechtel, III (Leslie) of Carlisle and JoAnn Smith of New Oxford; her grandchildren, Larry E. Rife, Jr. (Gwen), John H. Bechtel, IV (Gina), Brandye L. Leppo (Brian) and Stevie Smith (Niki); and her great grandchildren, Larry E. Rife, III (Amore), Olivia P. Bechtel, Presley L. Berryhill, Jake Bechtel and Lawton K. Leppo.
