He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruben A. Winter and Kathryn E. "Ripka" Winter; his wife Arlene Confer; and his siblings, Robert, Marlin, Paul Winter and Betty Albright.
He is survived by: his children, Wanda K. Nishitomi (Kurt) of Tehachapi, CA and Randy G. Winter of New Bern, NC.; and his siblings, Pauline "Polly" Stover, Wayne Winter (Betty), Frank Winter (Joyce), Sandy Zimmerman, May Long (Ken), Faye McCool, Kay Stover, Gary Winter (Paula), Karen Copenhaver and Dennis Winter (Michelle). He is also survived by four grandchildren.
