He was predeceased by: his parents, Jeffery Selmer Holstad and Opal "Verna" Holstad (Cooper); his stepfather Kenneth Holmes; his siblings, Norman Holstad, Emelyn Turner, Arlene Parks, Verda Felton, Frank Holstad, Shirley Gwynn and Ron Holstad; his grandson Justice Fockler; and his son Van Holstad.
He is survived by: his spouse Shirley (Reynolds); his brothers, Gerald Holstad (Evie) of Portland, Darrol Holstad and Virgil Holstad (Sally) of Woodburn; and his children, Benjamin Holstad (Tillamook), Rainy Marcum (Dallas) and Sam Holstad (Springfield). He is also survived by 7 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to "Friends of the Earth" as well as Willamina, Central, and Dallas youth sports and the YMCA.
