She was predeceased by: her husband Robert; her daughter Bonnie Jean; and her siblings, Tim, Elly and Jim.

She is survived by: her children, Joan, Bob, Brian, Mary, Michael, Kathy, Karen and Kevin; her children-in-law, Patrick, Kathleen, Christy and Heather; her grandchildren, Jasmine, Bobby, Brandon, Laura, Nate, Anna, Emily, Nathan, Samantha, William, Marina, John, Samuel, Lewis, Sophia, Joey, Dylan, Hayden, Brianna and Alex; and her great grandchildren, Wyatt, Reed, Oliver, Noah and Harper.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances in Joan's name may be made to the Bonnie Toon-Sweeney Memorial Scholarship at the University of Portland.
