It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruby M. Alston of Vale, Oregon, born in Washington, Oklahoma, who passed away on April 8, 2023, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Sherman; her father Oren Turner Dowdy; her sons, Craig and Sherman Jr. Then; her mother Julia Dowdy; and her siblings, Violet, Elsa, Martha, Margie, Doris, Howard Leroy, Leonard Allen, Oren and Clovis.
She is survived by: her brothers, Eugene and Kenneth; her children, Ron and Meg; her grandchildren, Tanya, Luke, Rich and Amanda; and her great grandchildren, Wesley, Ruby, Ariana, Aspyn, Kamea, Madison, Logan and Susan.
She taught art classes, set up special holiday events, cooked up multiple dishes for potlucks and weddings, and donated her beautiful crafts and award-winning pies to fundraisers, and won many awards for her canned goods and crafts.
