He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Lela Phillips and Amos Phillips; his former wife Sharon Phillips; his sons, Michael Phillips and Matthew Phillips; his wife Linda; his daughter Rebecca Phillips; and his grandchildren, Bailee and Bradley Foster.
He was suffering from Alzheimer's. Carroll moved in with Matt & Linda and lived there for almost a year before he had to move to the veterans home to get the care he needed.
