He is survived by: his wife Eileen; his children, Kathern L. Melson of Sweet Home, Kimberly A. Samard of Millersburg and Anthony "Tony" Samard of Jefferson; and his sisters, Arlene Steckley of Albany and Marilyn Ridgeway of Aumsville. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.
