He was predeceased by: his parents, Florence Evelyn (Kerr) and Frank Brunger Simmons; and his sister Irene McKnight. He is survived by: his wife Beverly Simmons; his stepchildren, Adalberto Handy III and Etta Ross of Sweet Home; his nephew Martin McKnight of Milwaukie; his niece Marla Rethwill; and his great-niece Amy Rethwill of Maupin. He is also survived by six step-grandsons.
