He was predeceased by: his parents, Berneta Velma Rice (Banta) and James Elbert Rice; his stepmother Alice Hunter Rice; and his brothers, Charles Willard Rice and Roy Winferd Rice.
He is survived by: his former wife Joyce Mae Dahlenberg; his children, Connie Irene Atkinson of Toledo, Steven Roger Rice of Albany and Cindy Marie Lill of Lebanon; his wife Anna Elizabeth Stockemer; his stepson James; his sons, Daniel Carper of Sweet Home, Michael Carper of Ft. Benton, Montana and Randy Carper of Sweet Home; and his brother Donald Elbert Rice of Springfield. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
