He was predeceased by: his parents, Mart Hefty and Maxine Hefty (Buchanan); and his siblings, Marilyn Schmidt, Curt Hefty, Gwenie Hefty and Steve Hefty.
He is survived by: his wife Georgianna Hefty (Jan); his sons, Rick Allen (Genece Hefty) and John Martell (Sally Hefty); and his sister Shari Hefty. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
