He was predeceased by: his wife Marystella; and his son Richard Chavez. He is survived by: his children, Hazel Eckhardt (Ken), Jacob Chavez (Elpida), Edwin Chavez, Sharon King, Thomas Chavez and Stephanie Worthington. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
