He was predeceased by: his parents, Evelyn M. Trepanier and Ralph G. Peterson; and his siblings, Delores, Duane and Philip.

He is survived by: his wife Chris Cunningham.

“Pete was a great guy. I met him in early 2022 after I had joined FCC Eugene, and he was always very kind to me throughout our interactions during the preceding two years. Without a doubt, he was one of the top five nicest cisgender men I have ever known, and those would include my Dad. After I had begun to volunteer for the youth at FCC, I was saddened to learn of his illness. Therefore, I visited him at his home in late November 2023. He is missed by many. - Ana Luthien Keathley”
