He was predeceased by : his daughter Amy Thomas-Gerhards; and his parents, Genevie Gerhards and Peter Gerhards. He is survived by : his wife Susan Gerhards; and his children, Merissa Sherwood, Jennifer Clark (Marcus), Maegan Gerhards, Nathan Gerhards (Georgia), Marcie Thomas and Andrea Gerhards (Peter Bush). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

A funeral service was held on Friday, July 5th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the St. Paul Catholic Church (1410 Pine St, Silverton, OR 97381).
