He was predeceased by: his parents, Eddie Walter and Helen Walter (Schaffer); and his sister Shirley Kuenzi. He is survived by: his wife Karen Dettwyler of Silverton; his children, Katrina Knobloch (Virgil) of Bloomfield, Karmin Popkes (John) of Rock Rapids, Chad Walter (Megan) of Silverton, Curt Walter (Elizabeth) of Lucas, Kyle Walter (Trisha) of Silverton, Craig Walter (Kristi) of Silverton, Kristen Brockamp (Matt) of Wallowa and Kara Strahm (Todd) of Fort Wayne; and his siblings, Jim, Keith, Harvey, Pete, Duane, Donnie, Barb Kuenzi, Marilyn Kuenzi, Rosie Edelman, Nancy Vitzthum and Cindy Edelman. He is also survived by 33 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
