He was predeceased by: his parents, Ludwig Metz and Persida Metz (Honegger); and his siblings, Elizabeth Johnson, Esther Gerber, Christian, Emil, William and David.
He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Martin (Betty); his children, Lisa Leman (Mike) of Justin, Texas, Amy Menold (Christopher) of Sabetha, Kansas, Joel Metz (Laura) of Keizer, Eldon Metz (Alice) of Salem and Mary Kuenzi (Chris) of Salem; and his siblings, Ruth Metz of Fairbury, Illinois and Benjamin Metz (Miriam) of Francesville, Indiana.. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren.
