He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Maarten Jongeneel and Teutje Jongeneel; his wife Joan Halleman; his stepchildren, Deborah, Susan and Timothy; and his sisters, Jannie and Marry.

Contributions in his memory can be made to Union Gospel Mission of Salem, or Hope Pregnancy Clinic in Salem.
