He is survived by: his wife Elaine D. Powell of Columbus, IN; his brother Richard Powell of Sherwood, OR.; his children, Linda Van Dorn (Andrew) of Tigard, OR, Daniel Powell of Aurora, OR and Sharon Thayer (Mark) of Forest, VA; and his grandchildren, Nikki (Craig), Justin (Trisha), Eric, Colt, Beau, Bethany (James), Sarah, Elisa, Kellie and Cassie. He is also survived by thirteen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Centra Hospice Lynchburg, VA or Word of Life Fellowship, Schroon Lake, NY.
