He was predeceased by: his former wife Bette; his children, Gayle Merritt and Rick Merritt; and his granddaughter Cheryl Merritt. He is survived by: his wife Joan Merritt; his children, Larry Merritt (Gretchen), Tom Merritt, Lynne Terry (David), Patti Merritt and Tracie McBeth (Gordon); and his stepchildren, Gail DeHaan (Rob) and Dana Ott. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
