He was predeceased by: his parents, August Nickel and Ella Nickel; his wife Verona Niewoehner; his children, Bonnie and Jody; and his siblings, Adeline, Lenora, Margaret and Albert.
He is survived by: his children, David Nickel (Linda), Teresa Zuniga (Daniel) and Heidi Ralls (Corey); his grandchildren, Christie Pierson (Tim), Jennifer Shimmin (Daniel), K'lyn Nickel, Cody Nickel (Tiffany), Stephanie Gordon (Ken), Melissa Beavers (Andrew), Jessica Hernandez (Eduardo) and Eldon Ralls; and his sister Leona Moe. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
