He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Hammond and Iva Hammond; and his siblings, Elvin, Neal, Twila, Joyce and Dean.

He is survived by: his wife Julia; his sons, Robert and Gerald; his siblings, Richard Hammond, Beverly Barber, Iva Ruth Champlain and Donna Jean White; and his granddaughter Katie Standish. He is also survived by many cousins; and dozens of nieces and nephews.
