She was predeceased by: her husband Jack A. Brooks; her sons, William "Bill" and Brian Brooks; her brother Jay Petty; and her former husband Kenneth L. Potter.
She is survived by: her sister Nancy Noyes (Worth); her children, Diane (Dan Lamontagne), Lydia (Peter King), Jack Jr. (Laura Jacoby) and David (Chengali Brooks); and her grandchildren, Matthew Donovan, II, Jessica Lamontagne, Peter King, II, Laurel King, Cyrus, Ethan Brooks, Ulyera and Waverly Brooks. She is also survived by several great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
She loved to sing, collect antiques, knit hats to donate to cancer patients, planted beautiful gardens, and raised peacocks, fowl, goats, and llamas.
