He was predeceased by: his parents, Margaret Elizabeth Goff Allison and James Robert Allison Sr.; his wife Jerry Mae McDonald Allison; his siblings, Carolyn Elizabeth Allison-Forrest and Donald Presley Allison; and his granddaughter Samantha Allison.
He is survived by: his sister Charlotte Allison-Gatlin; and his children, Joe Allison (Lori Ann Allison), Jamey Allison-Buker (Benny Buker), Robbie Allison (Laurie Allison) and Beth Kruse. He is also survived by 15 Grandchildren and 23 Great grandchildren.
