He was predeceased by: his parents, John W. McLeod and Mary Alice McLeod. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Poynor; his son Stewart (Annie) of Dallas, TX; and his grandchildren, Kylie and Miles.
He liked to read military history and donated his extensive collection of the books on that subject to the Corps library at Texas A&M.
