He was predeceased by: his wife Betty Barbara McCoy (Carver); his parents, Herman Clint McCoy Sr. and Fanny Roberta McCoy (McCellen); his brother Cecil B. McCoy; and his grandsons, Stephen McCoy, Brandon Copley and Johnathan Powell.
He is survived by: his children, Harvetta Powell, Margie Kelly (Roger), Robert McCoy, Richard McCoy (Sabrina) and Kenneth McCoy (Ronda); and his grandchildren, Jason Kelly, Christopher Kelly, David McCoy, Jaydyn McCoy and Tommy Estes. He is also survived by great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
