Alvera McGuirk Obituary

With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Alvera McGuirk (Portland, Oregon), born in Chicago, Illinois, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Alvera left this world on October 26, 2024 at the age of 80, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Alvera may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Ruth Adamson Ericson and Rev. Alvern R. Ericson; her brother Rodger; and her sister-in-law Betty. She is survived by: her children, Desiree Ruth Chung (West) and Anthony Chung (Katrina); her husband Bob (Bob); and her brother Albert (Patrick). She is also survived by stepchildren and step-grandchildren and numerous cousins, nieces and nephew.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to My Father's House (familyshelter.org), non-profit family shelter ministry addressing the needs of homeless families in Multnomah County, Oregon.
