She was predeceased by: her parents, Chester Kennedy and Leila Kennedy; her husband Milton C. Townsend; her daughters-in-law, Zelda Townsend and Donna Townsend; and her grandson Chris Blakeney.
She is survived by: her children, Campfire Girls, Superintendent, Calvary Baptist Church, Marilyn Townsend of Pendleton, OR, Marsha Marcuson (Bob) of Spokane, WA, Steven Townsend of Umatilla, OR, Michael Townsend of Paterson, WA and Mark Townsend (Kammi) of Pendleton, OR; and her grandchildren, Shawn Carey (Tina), Brent Carey (Tess), Brian Townsend (Kim), Melissa Ver Steeg (Lynn), Jason Townsend (Molly), Kevin Townsend (Kaylena), Brandon Townsend and Ryan Townsend (Heather). She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association in memory of Thelma.
