He was predeceased by: his parents, Alex Shippentower and Blanche Shippentower; his brothers, John and William Shippentower; his son Richmond "Joe" Joseph Shippentower; his nephews, Allen and Jerry Spencer; and his great-nephew Jerry Spencer.
He is survived by: his wife Beverly Penney; his son Jerrid Weaskus (Brandie); his grandchildren, Anthony, Darren, Marella Shippentower, Philip, Natasha, Asia, Victoria, Mahalie and Wahlitits Weaskus; his great grandchild Anthony Joseph "AJ" Shippentower; his sister Rosenda; and his niece Carmen James. He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grand-nephews.
A prayer was held on Tuesday, February 4th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the Burns Mortuary of Pendleton (336 SW Dorion Ave, Pendleton, OR 97801). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 at 9:00 AM at the Tutuilla Presbyterian Church (45682 County Rd 1075, Pendleton, Oregon 97801). A graveside service was held on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Homly Cemetery.
