He was predeceased by: his brothers, Byron and Jack Waterman. He is survived by: his children, Marian, Melody and Merle II; his grandchildren, Ceileigh, Rachel, Django, Derek, Quinn, Gina and Fiona; his sister Carol Kooistra; and his siblings-in-law, Ruth Rhoades, Beth Phillips and Bill Schumacher.
