He is survived by: his wife Della of Pendleton, OR.; his daughter Sonja Marie Mata of Kennewick, WA.; his stepchildren, Karen Caldwell of Jackson, TN and Ben Boldt of Victor, CO.; his grandchildren, Yesenia Garcia-Mata of Kennewick, WA., Jesus Galvez of Kennewick, WA. and Isabel Galvez Mata of Kennewick, WA.; and his siblings, Maria Garcia of Elgin, IL, Mario Mata of Lebanon, OR, Jose Luis Mata (Irma) of Modesto, CA, Maria Alfaro (Margarito) of Puyallup, WA, Jesse Mata, Marcy Vidaurri (Gilbert) of Sunnyside, WA, Irma Mata, Janie Cioppa (Phil) of Pasco, WA, Larry Mata (Jerrianne) of Moses Lake, WA and Jim Mata of Richland, WA.. He is also survived by uncles, aunts, numerous nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces as well as numerous cousins.
