She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Bechtel and June Bechtel (Hug) of La Grande, Oregon.. She is survived by: her children, Sybil Tremper, Mark George and Josh Swegle; her grandchildren, Andrew, Brayden, Caleb, Dawson, Owen, Gavin and Olivia; her husband John Straughan; her children, Bryn Stamets and Nick Straughan; her grandchildren, Michael, Kenzie and Mady; her brother Douglas Bechtel of Cornelius, OR; her nieces, Terresa Bechtel of Oregon City, OR and Sybil (Rob Tremper); her great-nieces and great-nephews, Andrew, Brayden, Caleb, Dawson of Pendleton, OR, Mark, Jaymi George, Josh Swegle of Pendleton and Gavin Swegle (John Straughan) of Ninilchik, AK; her pet Murphy; and also, Owen and Olivia of La Grande, OR.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Joey's honor to the Burns Mortuary in care of the Dirt Dabblers Garden Club.
