He was predeceased by: his parents, Irvin Jackson and Lila Jackson (Van Vranken); his daughter Cindy; his siblings, Eugene, Les, Virgil, Carroll, Verna Powell and Olma Rider; and his grandchildren, Caleb Wright, Nelson Pickett Jr. and Lacee Gallino.

He is survived by: his wife Sharon Jackson (Rogers); his children, Donyale Jackson (Troy Smart), Donna Frambers and Brad Jackson (Shanon); his sister Erma Youngblood; and his children, Chuck Sander, Angi Gallino (James), Geni Parrish, Tami Sampson (Tom) and Dan Billow (Krista). He is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
