He was predeceased by: his parents, Baldomero Urrea and Angelita Urrea; and his siblings, Herminia, Victoria, Antonio, Vicente, Roman and Nacho.

He is survived by: his wife Socorro; his siblings, Apolonio Rodriguez (Salome), Janie Duarte, Pat Hernandez, Isa Izaquirre (Eulogio), Celia Rodriguez, Virginia Cavazos (Antonio) and Guadalupe Hernandez (Jose); his children, Elisandro, Jr. Urrea (Kathy), José Urrea (Sandy), Rocio Anderson and Maria Lopez (José); and his grandchildren, Cristina, Angelita, Margarita (Ruben), Jonathan (Liz), Alejandra, Samantha (Andrew), Amy (Demitri), Cristóbal and Miren. He is also survived by 16 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren.
