She was predeceased by: her parents, Lloyd Vivian Reed and Blanche Hildreth Sharp Reed; her husband Harold L. Short; her children-in-law, Karen Short, Richard Grate and David Schuster; and her granddaughter Maria Kindschy.

She is survived by: her children, Maurice Short, Ramona McLean, Roberta Schuster, Rhonda Williams and Jim Short (Carol). She is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great-grandchildren.
