He was predeceased by: his parents, Julius Stender, Jr. and Anna J. Stender (Daniels); his brother Stan Stender; his half-brother Bruce Van Buskirk; and his son Steven Stender.
He is survived by: his wife Veneita; his son Greg; his daughter-in-law Carol Stender of Florence; and his grandson Chris. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
