She was predeceased by: her parents, James Hanks and Birdie Hanks; her husband John Simpson; her children, Diana Simpson and Gail Jackson; her grandson Michael Painter; her sons-in-law, Roy Painter and Bob Thompson; and her siblings, Delbert, Leon, Larry, Gordon Hanks and Shirley Angland.

She is survived by: her children, David Jackson (Wanda) of Tenmile, Sharon Thompson of Myrtle Creek, Jerry Simpson of Myrtle Creek, Tammy Painter of Myrtle Creek, Danny Simpson (Cindy) of Idlelyd Park and Teresa DeWald (Shane) of Roseburg; her grandchildren, Shawn Brown, Tracy Thompson, Robert Thompson, Joe Jackson, Chris Painter, Jennifer Adams, Angela Pope, Cassandra Johnson, Cherie Jackson, Toni Sands, Logan Simpson, Brandy Simpson, John Simpson, Brandon Dean and Shayla Murdock; her sister Linda Springer; and her pet Molly. She is also survived by twenty-six great-grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
